In township community effort, farmers including Ejof Daniel and Lawrence Drager gathered at Charles D. Wood's land on Rt. 18 to aid with crop planting. Volunteers supplied tractors and implements, shared labor, and 13 acres of beans and corn were planted with help from local families and businesses.

Henry grade school students raised 69.79 Saturday through a tag day led by principal Clifford Foulon. Toluca Soldier Killed in Action in Korea
Toluca, Illinois mourns Pfc Bert Cinkovich of Toluca reported killed in action in Korea on February 13, 1951. His family received word from the War Department via Washington on May 17. The 38th Infantry Regiment truck driver had recently been transferred to a tank division and had enlisted after a prior discharge. He attended Toluca schools, worked for Clannin Wholesale, and leaves a mother Mrs Lena Cinkovich, two sisters, a brother, and several relatives in Toluca and Streator.
