McNabb Girl 13 Burned In Sunday Morning Fire
Mabel Greathouse, daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred Greathouse, 18 years old, was badly burned at home near McNabb on Sunday morning while near a heating stove. Her dress ignited as she stooped to pick up something, and neighbors fought the flames until help arrived. She was rushed to Spring Valley hospital with serious injuries and a doubtful recovery.

Funeral services held for Nels Frederick Stromgren in Varna
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Swedish Lutheran church at Varna for Nels Frederick Stromgren who died Thursday May 16. He was 87 years 5 months 14 days old and a respected Varna resident. He is survived by his nephew Mauritz Stromgren and a sister in law. Interment followed at Varna Cemetery.

Old Landmark Undergoing Repairs City Tower Remodeling
