Proposal to Build Gas Plant in Henry County
A. J. Smith of Chicago and E. S. Hess of Kentland Ind visited Henry last Thursday to propose constructing a gas manufacturing plant to supply Henry and surrounding areas. The plan envisions a plant by the railroad and gas mains filling the city, contingent on sufficient demand, and was also presented to officials in Lacon Chillicothe and Sparland.

Junior Senior Banquet Held At Hotel Henry
The Junior Senior banquet was held last Thursday at 6 30 PM in the Hotel Henry dining hall decorated with class colors. Santa Fe Named Defendant in $15,000 Damages Case
The Atchison Topeka Santa Fe railway faces a $15 000 damage suit in Peoria county court brought by Mrs Harry Rinkenberger of Wenona for injuries from a grade crossing crash at La Rose on November 18 1929. Six in the car were returning from Wash urn to Wenona and Streator. the collision involved a freight train and a later passenger train. Mrs Arthur Rinkenberger of Streator died from the crash and suit for her death will be filed soon.

Feeble Minded Lacon Youth Sent to State School
George Linscott age 18 son of Ben Linscott of Lacon appeared before a commission in Judge Homer Barney's court at Lacon Monday and was sentenced to an indefinite term at the Lincoln school for the feeble minded. He had been jailed a week for an attack on an eight year old Sparland girl and was taken to Lincoln Tuesday morning.

Elizabeth Rasley Fosbenner aged 81 died Tuesday at her Henry home after heart trouble. Born January 28 1849 in Bethlehem Pa she lived nearly her entire life in Henry. She married Jacob Fosbenner in 1870 had a daughter Nellie and ran a local store and millinery. Funeral at her home Thursday with Episcopal service. interment Henry cemetery.

The Geneseo Republic marks its seventy fifth anniversary on June 5 this year. Founded in 1865, the Lieberknecht family has run the paper for 73 years. Adam Lieberknecht began as printer’s foreman in 1857 and led as editor and owner from 1877. He served as consul in Tampico and Zurich. since 1900 his three sons have run the publication, with J Frank Lieberknecht’s death in 1924 leaving Will and Charles as publishers.

Henry High Athletes Place Third in Tri County Meet
Henry High finished third in the Tri County track meet at Wenona with 25 points. John Swaney of McNabb led all scorers with 31 points, while Stant was runner up with 30. Henry won the 880 yard relay with Bacon Moats Shearer and Mercian coming from behind to secure the trophy. Wright was injured and scored less than expected. The team heads to Streator Friday for night relay races.

Miss Sadie Albertson daughter of Eli and Sarah Jane Albertson spent most of her life in Henry. A former primary teacher and later a nurse she died Monday May 19 after a year of illness at Julia Rackley Perry Memorial hospital Princeton. Funeral services were at the Presbyterian church conducted by Rev H G Dusenberry with O E S members aiding at the grave. Mrs. Mary Carroll Suffers Serious Hand Injury
