Second Case Of Spotted Fever Reported Here
A second case of Rocky Mountain spotted fever has been reported in Henry County. Mrs Lowell Mooberry, aunt of Frances Elizabeth Kapraun who died May 7, is hospitalized with symptoms matching the disease. Tick bite is suspected though no tick was found. Dr. Sandor Horowitz of the State health department investigated Sunday with others expected later in the week.

George Nicholson Dies This Morning
George Nicholson former Henry youth died this morning May 19 at the Birchwood sanitarium Evanston after months of illness. He had tubercular infection and entered the sanitarium in early March. Survived by his widow Loraine Haus of Chicago, an aunt Mrs Margaret White of California, two cousins and other Nicholson relatives. Funeral plans include bringing the remains to Henry Friday with services likely Saturday at the Nicholson home.

The Grade School Board hired T. A. Baker as eighth grade teacher replacing retiring Otta. Baker becomes principal for next year and will coach track, baseball, and basketball. He studied at State Normal University Kalamazoo and Iowa State University, with 12 years teaching. nine as principal and coach at Sherman and Wyoming, Ill. He plans summer study at Iowa University and will relocate to Henry.

City Council Awards Street Improvement Contract

Decoration Day Program Planned By Henry Legion
Henry post of the American Legion plans Memorial Day exercises on Monday May 30. Members meet at the Legion Hall about nine in the morning to proceed to the cemetery for a program by the Henry School band under Arthur Blocher the W R C program firing squad salutes and graves decorations. Henry to Host Daily Vacation Bible School This Summer
A joint effort of the Methodist, Presbyterian and Christian Churches will run a two week daily Bible school in Henry from May 30 to June 10. Classes for ages five to sixteen cover Bible study, mission study and civics with morning sessions 9 to 11 30. Openings and staff will be announced. Mrs Harold Willer and Miss Mary Dawnay named primary instructors.
