Car leaps onto rails after sleepy drive wrecks on curve
Edward Lutes and a William Ziegler boy fell asleep at the wheel of a Ford coupe near Chillico. The car left the road and jumped the railroad bank landing on tracks eight to twelve feet below. Both escaped with minor injuries though the car was badly wrecked and later recovered by the Henry Motor company.

Patrolman William Blackburn Burned In Brush Fire Blast
William Blackburn patrolman on the road between Lacon and Wenona was severely burned Thursday when gasoline he poured on a brush heap exploded. He carried about a half gallon from his car in a bucket to the pile. the blast drenched his face and arms with burning liquid. He had been talking with two men in a field one smoking a cigarette. he believed a burning stub caused the explosion. He sought immediate homeward help but stopped at a farm house for treatment. portions of skin along his face and arm were burned, a deep facial burn reported.

Death of James Russell Brother of Local Residents
James Russell, brother of Mrs. H G Roberts and Hayes Russell, was found dead in bed Friday at his brother Albert’s home in Lacon. He died of heart trouble at 73. Born in Ontario, Canada, he was one of ten children. his parents and two brothers had died earlier. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Baptist church in Chilhoithe.
