Funeral services for Mrs Louelia Weaver Cassell were conducted at the Baptist church in Sterling with pastor L Masemore in charge. The service included organ music and two vocal selections. She was born November 2 1891 in Chillicothe and lived most of her life in Sterling area. She married Harry V Cassell and had two sons Floyd and James Ed. two daughters and adopted children. She leaves widower James Cassell and many relatives.

Advertising man Mace Berney killed in Washburn plane crash
Mason R. Berney 36 of Washburn died when his four place light plane crashed in Washburn after a high speed stall during an evening flight from Marshall county airport to Lacon. Witnesses saw the craft fall and strike a tree before skidding into Woodford County. Berney, not a pilot, held a student permit and relied on others to pilot the plane. He is survived by a twin brother, two sisters, and was cremated in Chicago after memorials in Washburn.

The Henry Public Library board met on May 13 and presented the librarian and treasurer reports. The year saw the busiest activity with 12 369 books and magazines borrowed, 406 new volumes added, 195 discarded leaving 6986 total, and the collection described as 18 up to date and in good condition. Insurance for books and furnishings was increased and the financials showed a balance forward of 41419 with income from fines rentals and memberships totaling 11940 and water bill collections 1000 plus county treasurer 2/4673.
