Tuberculosis Seals Honor Local Association Recognition
The Illinois Tuberculosis Christmas Seal Campaign awarded the Putnam County Tuberculosis Association a recognition certificate for its work last year. Local funds raised totalled 4571.76 against a county goal of 4785.74, with 26.7 cents per person locally versus a state average of 20.4 cents. The group ranked thirteenth in the state, with 70 percent of local funds directed to Marshall Putnam counties. Amle Guimond leads the local association.

Howard K. Thompson was named Supervisor of Personnel Relations for Jones & Laughlin Steel's Hennepin Works Division by Hennepin Works Manager A. T Sadler. Henry fire department responded to a Wednesday blaze in a bedroom at the Bissell Shaver tenant house occupied by two construction workers. The room suffered heavy damage with smoke and water intrusion to the rest of the house. Total loss estimated at 1500 dollars.
