Read Bros of Hen and Henry Motor Company proposals also considered. Building to be 40 by 80 feet with balloons and adjacent sidewalk. ASC officials expect final decision this week.

Grade School Board Sets May 22 Meeting
The board will meet Monday evening May 22 at the school building. Architect John Ziegele has presented specifications for the grade school building and improvements. They will review cost figures and war movement prints, with Attorney Robert present to discuss purchase prices of the land and fringe areas. The board also considers possible erection of a new building and will meet with the architect and attorney at 9:30 p.m.

Serenade by High School Chorus at May Auditorium
The High School chorus performed a Friday May 12 concert under director Mr E Pennock in the auditorium. The program opened with Great Day sung by Anne and Vienna My City of and featured Patty Sophomore Philosophy as soloists with accompaniment by a pianist and grade school band. Fortunes included selections from Frederic Chopin and various choral works with a light mix of student performers and a few substitutions by Foster and Brennan.

New Presbyterian Minister Moves Into Henry Saturday
Rev Albert C Journey, newly called pastor of the Henry Presbyterian Church, will move to Henry this Saturday after finishing studies at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago. The Kentucky born minister, a Centre College graduate, will arrive with Mrs Journey and their two sons Mark and Stephen. Extensive redecorating of the Presbyterian manse on Cortit Street has been completed for their arrival, with Ernest Koford leading the trustees in charge of the improvements.

Fire Damages Laundry Equipment at Kenneth Chance Home

Requiem Mass Monday for Thomas Piper
Funeral services for Richard Piper were held Monday at St Joseph's Church with Rev William Dorney of Chicago presiding. Interment followed at St Patricks Cemetery. pallbearers included William Woodfill George Bevan Jud Woodfill and John Carnet. Piper was a former Chicago police officer who later led the Illinois State Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Surviving are wife Margaret Carnes Piper daughter Helen Mott son Robert Piper four grandchildren and two sisters Emma Baur and Margaret Ploper. Out-of-town relatives attended.
