The newly organized recreation league starts Monday at the school grounds. High School Blacks play Henry Chix while High School Reds meet Black Hawks. Ten players per team, ten-inch soft ball, no gloves. Schedule lists 31 games, 7 pm start, no admission. Lights financed by locals, season runs to July 19 with potential extension.

3,000,000 Baby Pike Sent to Woodford County Waters
A consignment from the Spring Grove state fish hatchery delivered 3,000,000 baby wall-eyed pike to Woodford County for Illinois River stocking. Deputy Game Warden E. R. Berry received the fish, transported in 20 cans by hatchery manager Thomas McCafferty, and placed them in the Zin ditch opposite Chillicothe and the Illinois river backwaters north of Spring Bay.

Home Destroyed by Fire at Forcht Farm
The William Forcht family home on the Florid Home road burned completely last Wednesday evening after a kerosene accident. Mr Forcht suffered severe burns and was treated by a Granville doctor. his daughter escaped injury. Insurance valued the home at 1500 dollars, with little furniture covered.
