Prairie man hurt by disc while unhooking horses
A Prairie man was slashed by a turning disc while unhooking a four horse team during a thunderstorm. He suffered long gashes to the head and neck, torn ribs, and other bruises. A Civilian Conservation Corps unit has been established at Camp Henry Riviera park to complete soil erosion work started the previous year. The junior camp of 50 men, ages 17 to 25, is led by Lieut. L. A. Fiieburg with Lieut. Powell medical officer and staff including H. E. Stoner agronomist J F Connolley and Thomas Wasson junior foreman. Work spans Marshall and Putnam counties with plans to finish in all townships before the camp closes.
