The Christian Church board has approved a contract with Sivell Bros to add two rooms a kitchen and a social room at the west end of the existing edifice. The building will be painted and redecorated and modern conveniences installed. Funds are pledged and largely collected, avoiding extra burdens on members. Mrs Glenn Anderson Taken To Spring Valley Hospital
Mrs. Glenn Anderson of Henry was taken to St. Margaret's hospital in Spring Valley on Wednesday for a serious operation on a complication of appendicitis and gall stones. She is recovering but will remain in the hospital for an indefinite period.

Mother's Day observance at First Christian Church
More than two hundred gathered at the First Christian Church for the Mother's Day program. Dr Madden delivered the sermon and floral awards were presented by Mrs Flavel Bland. Mrs Belle Hunt was oldest mother present and Mrs Robt Morse youngest. The father with most children was Mrs John Brown. Gerniums petunias and ferns adorned by Mrs Jack Hunter were given to winners. Miss Reinbeck and Mrs Cook provided piano music and a double quartette of young ladies sang. Mrs Earle Blackwell and Miss Verla Waughop gave solo parts. The service closed with an invitation hymn and benediction.

A large group of agriculturists and business men gathered at the Henry National Bank community room to hear William Costello outline the Farmers Three Per Cent League plan to form a Marshall county unit and file petitions for Congress. A monster mass meeting is urged for Sparland Gym May 20. Costello says farm mortgages totaling 9.5 billion dollars carry up to seven percent interest and proposes federal refinancing via farm mortgage bonds at three percent. The league spans at least twenty Illinois counties and 16 states with broad citizen support and petitions expected to mobilize 85 to 98 percent local voter backing to press Congress for action next session. A program committee including George Harney, Hugh Hastings, and J. A. Shanklin will arrange the Sparland event.

Lacon Sparland Dike Paving to Start Immediately

Forty Acre Tract Sells at Three Dollars Per Acre
In Worth Township Woodford county the executor S M Snyder sold 120 acres to settle Nicholas Parr estate. A 40 acre tract brought 120 dollars at 3.00 an acre bid by John T Miller. An 80 acre tract went to Alois J Alig at 7.25 an acre totaling 580 dollars. The full 120 acres brought 700 dollars in cash.

Former Henry Resident Sarah Pool Dies at 83
Mrs. Sarah Pool widow of the late Aaron Pool died in Alliance Nebraska on May 6 1981 at age 83. She lived in Henry and vicinity from 1860 to 1883 and is survived by a sister and four sons.

Henry hosts Marshall county grade school track meet
Approximately fifty athletes from Wenona Toluca Washburn and Henry compete tomorrow afternoon at the fairgrounds in nine events. The meet features heavy and light weight classes with relays over half and 440 yards, cups for relay winners, ribbons for individual placers, and Nate Crabtree as referee assisted by Wright Hoscheidt Phillips and Hartley.
