A murky Henry City chamber discussion clarifies it is advisable for a general resolution. Members proceed with a vote on the advisability, indicating moving forward with a unified community plan in Henry.
A public meeting is planned for May 26 at the high school study hall to discuss forming a Henry Chamber of Commerce. The move, supported by the Henry Business Men's Association, aims to sustain local business growth and connect with a state organization through speaker William Divinney of Chicago. Attorney John Wasik will chair, with Harry Shanks and Max Allard among the organizers.
The Nols Val Association Man announces its 20th annual awards with a focus on regional Blue Coun activities and notable contributors during the season.
Harold Schmitt son of Mr and Mrs Fred Schmitt of R R Lacon is to be ordained a priest at Pontifical College Josephonum Washington Ohio. His first solemn mass will be at St Marys Church Henry at 10 a m on Sunday June 7.
May crowning exercises at St Marys church will be Sunday May 17 at 3 p m Sally Lancaster named May queen with attendants from the parish all young ladies participate in the living Rosary procession and recitation services include coronation of the Blessed Virgin prayers a short talk by Fr Laurence Schumacher and Benediction everyone invited to attend.
A delegation from B. F. Goodrich Chemical and B. F. Goodrich Rubber, led by John R R Hoover T B Nantz and R V D Scott, visited Henry today. Scull and Miler joined from the parent company as the group inspected facilities, dined at La Con club, then proceeded to Calvert City for further plant review.
Dr. Charles Mayo will be the principal speaker at the National Tuberculosis Association annual meeting at the Palmer House in Chicago on May 28. His address is titled Health, an Instrument for Peace and all members of the Marshall County TB and Health association board are invited to attend.
Illinois legislators and officials back a harbor improvement on the Henry riverfront. Senator Woodruff and Rep McCully promote a plan with support from Gov Stratton and the conservation department. Federal aid via Corps of Engineers is sought for dredging and site prep at the Henry lock pond.
Henry Senachwine FHA members hosted fathers at the annual awards dinner in the school cafeteria. Two Henry men Wayne Rickeoy and Kenneth Chance received honorary chapter farmer degrees for aid to the chapter. Roger Courson presented Greenhand awards to ten freshmen and chapter farmer awards to eight two year project workers. Production awards went to Ron Daum Allen Quinn Ron Taylor Art Engelbrecht Bob Titcomb Russell Ziegler Tom Schlosser Show slides highlighted 32 members projects. About 70 people attended the program and chicken dinner.
The Henry business district fundraiser named Project City Beautiful collected 296 dollars toward hanging flower baskets on night standards. Mayor John Wagner directed the effort with Diane Stout coordinating solicitations, and many local businesses contributed as listing shows.

Funeral services for William Rinehart seventy four held at Ries funeral home in Chilliestie after a long illness. Pastor Roland Badger led rites. burial at Putnam cemetery. Survived by brother Perry and sister Alto. several nieces and nephews. never married.
