Emma C. Kirkpatrick of Roberts Township Marshall County Indiana died May 6 1944 at age 89 after a long life of regional ties. She married John M. Kirkpatrick in 1877 and had five children three of whom died young. Survived by daughter Vivian Emma and son J A Kirkpatrick with grandchildren Dale C Kirkpatrick and Vivian Emma. Services were May 8 conducted by Rev Golden at East Park Methodist Indianapolis and burial beside her husband in Crown Hill. She traced to pioneer Ditnels family with relatives in Marshall County and a cousin Isaac Croft of Varna.

Former Resident Dies In Peoria
Richard Reed of this city attended the funeral in Peoria for Mrs. Emma Eckhart Gatlin a Henry County pioneer. Gatlin born and raised in Henry attended local schools and had lived in Peoria for years. She leaves a daughter Harriet at home in Peoria, three sisters Lillian Texas Anna Kieth California Maude Bresse Peoria a brother William Chicago and two grandchildren. Christian Science services were held and burial was in a Peoria cemetery. Gatlin was cousin to Edward and Fred Merdinn and Mrs. Mary Ford of Henry.
