Lightning Strikes Barn On Meridian Farm In Storm
A Monday night electrical storm struck the William Meridian farm south of Henry, destroying the barn and its hay and equipment. Firemen arrived too late to save the structure. calves inside escaped as the barn burned to a total loss, with partial insurance coverage noted.

Klein Motor Company Buys Old Kuss Blacksmith Property
Klein Motor company Tuesday purchased the old Kuss blacksmith property on Main Street across from the Klein garage and adjacent to the Henry American Legion building. The 60 by 160 foot lot will host a used car lot after dismantling the longtime blacksmith shop once run by Joseph Kuss and later by his son Joseph Kuss Jr, both now deceased. The property was bought from Mrs. Joseph Kuss Sr.
