A two- truck collision on Route 89 near La Salle left Mr and Mrs Lipscomb of Lac on seriously injured. The La Salle driver was less hurt. Both were hospitalized as investigators ruled the La Salle truck at fault.

CCC crews assist with sodding a grass waterway and contour drilling of corn while strip cropping continues on farms in Steuben La Prairie Marshall and Putnam counties with 840 acres of drilled corn on 42 farms this year.

Final Tribute to Mrs. Mattie Mills of McNabb
Mattie E. Benjamin born August 1854 in McLean County Illinois married Willis J Mills on March 26 1879. They lived in McLean County before moving to McNabb in 1882 where she raised five sons. She died May 1 after weeks of illness and was buried at the Friends Cemetery. The obituary notes her Quaker faith and devoted family connections.
