Joseph Moody a Henry resident died Friday after nearly five months illness at 8:10. He was born October 27 1858 in Whitefield Ill and married Josephine White in 1881. Survived by wife two daughters four granddaughters one grandson one great granddaughter and siblings and extended kin. The statewide Illinois Beauty Pageant at Springfield August 22-23 offers an all expense trip to the state fair winner and, if crowned Miss Illinois 1936, a trip to Atlantic City and the Miss America stage. Swaney High Wins Annual Putnam County Track Meet
Swaney High School topped the Putnam County track meet with 62 points on the Hennepin field last Tuesday. Coach E. E Sears watched Swaney sweep events including the 880 yard relay. Jim O Connor of Hennepin won four events and tied a county record in the 100 and 220 yard dashes. Don Nelson led Swaney with strong finishes in the low hurdles and as a relay member. The meet attracted a large crowd despite twilight conditions and featured new marks in the 200 yard low hurdles and other events.

Annual Church and Congregational Meeting Held at Presbyterian Church
The Presbyterian church held its annual church and congregational meeting after a covered dish supper led by Moderator Rev. Roger I. Cressey. Reports showed all departments in good order with paid bills and a small treasury balance. Repairs costing about six hundred dollars were completed, and repainting and redecorating were hoped for soon. Lucy Mateer was re elected organist with two assistants. R S Bayne and George Travis were re elected as elder board members for three years, and four trustees were re elected for three years with Walter Boyle added to the twelve member board. Alden Hunter was elected first alternate to the Presbyterian general assembly in Syracuse, N Y, May 82. The meeting adjourned at 8 45 with hymn and benediction.

Bank Closes Saturday Afternoons in Henry Town
