Baseball Season Opens at Fairgrounds
The Henry Greys face the Marshall Putnam Farm Bureau in the season’s first baseball game at the fairgrounds starting at 2:30 p m on Sunday. The Greys rely on a strong lineup from last year with new recruits, while Bob Helper and Lawrence Green pitch. Farm Bureau expected to use veterans with possible new players. The Greys also play at Tiskilwa on Sunday May 15.

Marshall County Receives State School Fund Disbursement
O T Stateler, county superintendent of Marshall county schools, received a $12,354.04 state distributive school fund warrant from the state treasurer for allocation among county schools. A remaining $7,707.05 is due but delays until Cook county taxes are collected, totaling $20,061.09 for Marshall. Checks were mailed to township treasurers with amounts listed for each district.

Henry Man Fined for Liquor Offense in Federal Court
Alden Hofer of this city was fined $100 and costs in the Federal court at Peoria last week on charges of possession and transportation of liquor. The case grew from an arrest by city agents during the Marshall-Putnam fair. His car collided with a machine carrying the agents, leading to his arrest. he paid the fine and was released.
