Magnolia LaRose Convention Committee Meeting Notes
The third division convention committee met at Granville Legion Home on Friday April 21 with chairman Ed Boren presiding. Attendees included Granville McNabb and Magnolia Legionnaires led by Melvin Haig and reports covered housing and finances, parade plans with ten drum and bugle corps and around 150 units expected, and requests for parade convertible donations. The Granville auxiliary reported on arrangements while deputy Warren Calbow discussed traffic control. Carnival chairman Ken Bouxsein announced a larger-than-expected event. The convention runs June 23 to 25 with a parade on the final day.

The Henry Senachwine High School Band held its third annual awards dinner at the American Legion hall on April 25. Director Nelson Stubbs led the program with a blessing by Callye Rose Hunt and awards for solo and ensemble entries, band service, and year pins.

Jon Mosher assistant administrator at Perry Memorial Hospital was elected secretary of the VicMahon Illini Chapter of the Hospital Financial Management Association during the Tri Chapter Conference held April 15 in Springfield. His one year term begins now. Dosher, named assistant administrator January 1, previously served as administrative assistant and earlier as assistant accountant at Perry Memorial.
