Catherine Peterman 67 Dies in Henry Community
Catherine Peterman a long time Henry resident died at age 67 after a two month illness last Saturday March 24 at her home. Funeral services were held Wednesday at St Marys Catholic Church with Rev Andrew Schauer and R O Green in charge. Interment Calvary Cemetery. She was born Catherine Gresser in Henry January 14 1867 and lived in the area her entire life. Surviving are a brother Henry Gresser and sister Mrs Harry Hayes of Blue Earth Minn. She was known as Kate in the community and leaves many friends mourning.

Escapes Serious Injury In Truck Crash Near Granville
August Moews of Granville narrowly avoided serious injury Monday evening when his Standard Oil oil truck skidded off the eastbound hard road one mile west of Granville. The vehicle overturned into a ditch, causing heavy damage as snow reduced visibility and slicked the highway while Moews attempted to pass a car near the Michael Wege farm around 6 p.m. He suffered a head bruise but was able to pull himself from the wreck.

Dismantling starts on old bridge site under Iowa officials
Work began today under Powers Thompson Construction of Joliet and state highway engineer J E Raffersperger to dismantle the south approach of the old bridge. Local crew of twelve removes flooring and timbers while salvageable material is saved. More equipment will speed the process and construction of the new bridge will follow the old site with the McClintic Marshall Chicago supplying steel for the superstructure. The project is expected to take more than a year.
