Adolph Wheeler of La Prairie Dies at 68
Adolph Wheeler, of La Prairie, died at his home at 9:00 p.m. on March 21 after a two month illness from complications. Born July 8, 1856, he was 68. A lifelong farmer, he lived in Illinois for fifty years after early years in Pennsylvania. He married Ellen Lizzie Large in 1868 and leaves six children. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Chillicothe on Sunday afternoon.

Fair Assn Appoints Dept Superintendents for September Fair
The Marshal Putnam Fair Association executive board met all day and appointed department superintendents for the third annual fair to be held on the Henry grounds in late September. They booked five entertainment groups for free attractions including a slack-wire act, comedy performers, and animal acts, with two nights of fireworks. Fireworks will feature color lighting and action displays such as Andy Grya fishing Barney Google and Spark, a speeding car exhibit, and an electical water fountain. A baby conference and farm mechanics display will be state supervised. The meeting also named the executive committee and board of directors responsible for preparations and oversight.
