A Monday evening session at the Math building in Marshall discussed estate planning and taxes. Attendees included candidates and panel members such as Mrs McNabb and Harold Velde, with talks by Simn E Lantz and others about dispersing estates and university agricultural economy studies.

Funeral services for Dr. Trevalo Chester Coggeshall were held at St. Mary's Church Rochelle with burial in Calvary Cemetery. He died Sunday March 23 in Chicago at St. Luke's Hospital after 43 years in Henry County. He served in WWI and practiced with E G Cromwell, later forming hospital operations in Rochelle. Survived by Jessie widow two sons Dr Chester Coggeshall and Dr Robert Coggeshall daughter Mrs Mary Kuhn eleven grandchildren.
The National Red Cross plans a new five million dollar March fundraising drive for tornado relief in the South. Marshall County’s share is two hundred sixty dollars with townships encouraged to complete drives or donate to branch chairs. Mrs. Lee Wright oversees house to house canvassing and urges anyone missed to contribute at home or the post office.
Hopkins High School announces three vacancies on the school board with an election set for Saturday April 12. Incumbents Chester Novak as president and William Ellena and Arthur Piccoll seek reelection to three year terms. Miller plans to move out of the district and will not run. petitions are being circulated ahead of the filing deadline.

Richard Schneider, discharged from a Corning hospital last week, is cared for at home by Miss Gertrude Hentsch a nurse and Carthage college graduate. Hentsch a German trained nurse now lives with Mrs. Matilda Nash in Hennepin while tending the patient who is also improving.
Magnolia township highway commissioner Bil Martin received a $100 check from A Zivney owner of Minonk Dairy Producer for the Magnolia road and bridge fund with no strings attached. Martin credits the gift to a belief in Santa Claus and Easter bunnies.

Joseph Bleull prominent Magnolia farmer dies after a three day illness following a flu. He passed at St Margaret's hospital Wednesday March 19 and funeral held Saturday March 22 at Immaculate Conception Mt Palatine with interment in Calvary cemetery Henry. Pallbearers included Walter Martin Ezio Benini Royal Rebholz and others. He was born December 14 1880 in Benson married Margaret Schlosser January 11 1905 and left wife four children plus five grandchildren and a sister living in California. He had farmed in Magnolia 39 years and was active in the community. relatives and friends attended from many towns.
Putnam county superintendent William H. Glover calls a county wide meeting of school boards and administrators for Monday evening March 31 at Hennepin high school. Samuel Bishop, assistant state superintendent, invited to address, with focus on addressin g enrollment growth crowding and school funding issues in Putnam county.
The News Republicana reviews voter registration in Marshall and Putnam counties ahead of the April primary.
