John Ransom 82 father of Mae Heininger of Henry died at his Putnam area home from a heart ailment. He was born November 4 1854 in Beardtown and lived near Henry most of his life. Funeral services were held at Lindbloom Funeral Chapel with Rev George DeHaven Franklin officiating. burial in Pall City Cemetery. Survivors include Mrs Mac Heininger of Henry and W H Ransom of Downs Kansas five grandchildren and two daughters of Mendota.

Henry Resident Hosts River Boat Guest on Illinois River
A. J. Longman hosted C. Ingersol manager of the Kenna boat for dinner at their riverfront cottage. On Sunday the Kenna carried 12 000 tons of coal upriver with Mrs. Longman invited aboard for a short ride. A wind incident delayed the return trip and the Kenna travels between Havana and Lockport delivering coal to the Commonwealth Edison Company in Chicago at about three and a half miles per hour.

Michael Lyons Dies At Pontiac
Michael Lyons died suddenly Tuesday night at his daughter Mrs. Marjorie Willis home in Pontiac. Funeral services are expected Saturday with burial in Odell Cemetery beside his wife Rostella and daughter Rostella who died two years ago. Lyons was a former farmer who later worked part time for the Illinois Agricultural Association.

Two Cars Collide Near McCauley Farm Roadside
Cars driven by Guy French and J C Roy Bracken of Putnam collided Friday evening at the curve on the hill near the Walter McCauley home. Both drivers were uninjured. French’s Ford V-8 was damaged. Bracken returned from Henry in his Chevrolet as French headed toward town.

Henry Hotel Sold to Charles P Green with Plans for Major Upgrades
Attorney Charles P Green of this city has completed a deal to acquire Hotel Henry and will take ownership on April 1. He plans a full redecorating and refurnishing program, new lighting and draperies, plus an enhanced dining room with a staff of cooks and waitresses. The Daly couple will operate the hotel under his advisory supervision, with a three and a half year lease and an option to buy. The hotel, built around 1923, is a prominent Henry landmark serving a recreation rich area.
