4-H Officers and Electricity School Held For Youth
Four H youths from Marshall Putnam and nearby counties took part in an 4-H Officers Training School last week. Groups elected spokesmen and discussed leadership roles under volunteer leaders William Koch Jr and Mrs Jane Downey. The Electricity School at Farm Bureau building on March 17 drew about 25 students and eight adults, sponsored by Cooperative Extension Service and Central Illinois Lights Co. Students studied fuses and wiring with hands on drills, mouth to mouth resuscitation, bulb sizing, lighting levels, and basic electrical wiring under supervision from Deryl Schertz and Harold Ungkel with advanced students assisting. Sessions continue March 24 and 31 at 7:30 p.m.

The Marshall Putnam 4 H Federation held its monthly meeting on March 22 in the Farm Bureau basement with about 35.4 H members and several adults present. Final plans were made for 4 H Fun Night on April 10 at Henry Senachwine High School. Each club should enter a booth for the carnival with dancing and refreshments to follow.
