Mrs. Claude Hill of Sparland died Monday afternoon at Peoria Methodist Hospital from injuries after a Saturday automobile crash near Chillicothe North Hampton. She was aged and survived by husband Claude Hill two children Vernon and Dorothy and her Aman family. Coroner impaneled a jury attributing death to accidental causes and services noted at La Prairie Church with interment at Blue Ridge Cemetery.

Mrs. Rose Hexter of Lacon died Tuesday after a weeks long illness at 77. She had lived in Lacon 30 years after moving from Ashland following her husband Meyer Hexter’s death. Survived by sons Harry Chicago Eli and Ansel Lacon and four grandchildren Myron Jack Elizabeth Janet. Funeral held at 9 a.m. Thursday in Lacon with Springfield services at 2 p.m. Thursday.

H G Roberts was struck in the chest by an axe blade while chopping a tree stump in his yard. He was briefly unconscious but no bones were broken, a sideways strike likely saved a more serious injury. He suffered a bad bruise from the mishap.

Sheriff Motter Injured In Fall Taken To Hospital
