Clarence Roach Dies of Infantile Paralysis at 33
Clarence Roach aged 33 years died Sunday noon from infantile paralysis with pneumonia and meningitis contributing. Services were held on the lawn Tuesday at his Henry home with interment in the city cemetery guarded by an American Legion escort. He a WWI veteran served in the 6th Infantry and had lived near Henry after moving from the farm in December. He leaves his wife Mary Harris Roach, his grandmother, a sister Eva Smith, and several uncles and aunts.

Peculiar Illness Strikes Wenona Boy

Gas Truck Narrowly Skids From Bridge Plunge
Harry Crawford of Washburn drove a gasoline truck with 300 gallons. On a hill above the Santa Fe railroad overhead bridge the vehicle failed to climb, backed into the bridge bannister, and tipped onto the bridge edge. Fifteen men and a second truck righted the vehicle after removing the gasoline.

Marauding thieves active in east Marshall County
Burglars hit La Rose area last Friday about four in the morning smashing doors and stealing small sums from C and A depot Althaus Bros hardware W.E. Bergs barber shop and other east end businesses. They attempted to damage safes and stole pennies and a Ford coupe was abandoned on a road near Ora McGully's. Authorities report no definite suspect despite multiple break-ins and car theft attempts in nearby towns.

Pneumonia Claims Esther Traver Daughter of Grant Traver
Private funeral held for Esther Elizabeth Traver at her parents home on Sunday at 1 30 in the afternoon with Lt. Phillips officiating. Esther born September 17 1920 in the city was the daughter of Grant and Alice Traver. She died after measles and pneumonia leaving a six year six month one day old. Interment followed in City cemetery.

The second carload of dairy cattle from Wisconsin will reach Henry Friday or Saturday and be sold next Wednesday at 1 o clock. Fifteen head will be housed at the Doelzer and Ray barn for inspection with a keeper present to detail each animal’s history. The cattle come from Monroe County, are from top producing herds, and are more mature than prior stock. They will be sold at cost rather than by auction, with no prior sales or reservations.
