Mrs Miriam Locke Corbin died in Peoria and funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church with Dr Ernest Bourner Allen of Oak Park officiating. Born 1878 near Lawn Ridge Illinois, she taught, studied at Oberlin and married Rev Paul L Corbin in 1904. The couple served as missionaries in Taiku China, where five children were born and she was a devoted mother.

County Board Expands Graveling Plans and Delinquent Tax Action
At its March session the County Board approved $19 000 for graveling three miles in Prairie township and two miles in Saratoga township with 14 foot and 9 foot widths. Additional two mile segments were set for Evans and Bennington townships as well as a 6 1/2 mile river side road. The board authorized borrowing up to $10 000 to cover warrants and considered delinquent taxes of 26 360 17 with 9 545 62 for 1927 pending compromise due to R T N cannot be sold for taxes. A tuberculosis contract with Dr C A Forbes was approved and court reporters payment orders were authorized during recess.

Funeral at Methodist church in Chillicothe with Rev Nothdurst Rev Einsel and music by Mrs Rena Greene.

James McAllister long time Wenona and Henry resident died at the home of his grandniece eight miles west of Henry on March 17 1928 at age 98. He was born January 25 1830 in Armoy Ireland and came to America with his parents in 1852 after which he served in the 48th Illinois Infantry during the Civil War. Funeral services were held Monday from the Presbyterian church with American Legion in charge and casket bearers including members of the McAllister family.
