George Michael Wallace aged 24 of Whitefield Illinois died Tuesday March 12 1929 after six weeks of encephalitis at his home. Born April 3 1904 he worked on the family farm and attended rural school. Funeral service was held March 14 at St Josephs Catholic Church with Knights of Columbus escorts and burial at St Patricks cemetery. He leaves his parents two brothers and four sisters with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are planned for mid afternoon at Weber and Green Undertaking Parlors with Rev G W Stren SaKine. The burial will be in the city cemetery.

Henry H Sigleer, longtime Henry resident and former cemetery sexton, died after a brief illness at his granddaughter’s home in Peoria. Born March 18, 1853 in Lebanon Pennsylvania, he would have turned 76. He leaves five children and four stepchildren and was buried beside his wife in Henry cemetery after services at Smith chapel.

The Illinois House passed a 3 cent gasoline tax by 94 to 50, sending the bill to the governor for signature after the Senate approved it 35 to 14 two weeks earlier.
