The Henry Goodrich Chemical plant will resemble its Calvert City Kentucky counterpart in initial construction. The Kentucky facility has grown to a total $17 million investment. Henry’s site will include a processing building an office warehouse machine shop and a steam generating plant.
B F Goodrich Chemical announces a 5 million dollar plant at Henry Illinois to employ about 80 people. Construction starts within 60 days with completion targeted for early 1958. Site chosen after reviewing over a dozen locations, with access to utilities transport and a waterway.
Sketch shows a proposed B. F. Goodrich plant to be built north of Henry on the west bank of the Illinois River near the Rock Island Railroad line. The Goodrich site adjoins Rohm and Haas land, including a tract Rohm and Haas once controlled.
The Henry community learns that B F Goodrich has chosen Henry as the site for its new industrial plant. Officials and business leaders were invited to a Tuesday dinner and announcement at the Farm Bureau community room. Local officials, Marshall county and Henry Business Men's association members attended, with Central Illinois Light Company arranging the dinner and reporting that final site decisions came recently.
The Henry community warmly welcomes B F Goodrich as the site of its newest industrial plant. The town hopes for a long and mutually beneficial association with the company.
About 30 local businessmen voted to place a large advertisement in the Peoria Journal Star special edition titled MidAmerica on the March. The 80 page issue will include a summary of the Urban Land Institute report and material on local industrial development with photos.
Henry Morse issues an official proclamation asking local business firms to close from noon to 3 p m on Friday April 19 during the annual Good Friday services. The proclamation will be published in the Henry News Republic and proclamation cards will be distributed in stores.
Scar Van Dusen died after a long illness in Rock Island. He was father of Mrs. Earl Hub 1 and half brother of Melvin Van sen, with relatives Mrs. Edith Sanger and cousin Jeff Davis. Funeral services set for 3 o clock at Hodgson Funeral Home 20th Street Rock Island.
