City Caucus Chooses Mayors and Aldermen in Open Meeting
A Monday night Republican caucus in Park City opened with nominations for city offices. L F Klein was nominated for mayor and reelected by acclamation. Be Be nominated for city clerk and was reelected. A Democrat, Ertle, was named city treasurer. Memorial rites for Alice Gilpin held in Chicago
Memorial services were conducted at The New Church in Chicago for Alice B aps Gilpin a Henry native who died of a heart attack at 1 am Thursday May 10 1922 at Mercy Hospital. She taught in Henry and Marshall County rural schools and in Henry Public School later moving to Chicago. Surviving are brothers Zack of Chicago and J L Gilpin of Henry. Cremation in Chicago with ashes to Henry City Cemetery.

Otto Boers Delivers Rotary Program At Lacon Club

Fire Destroys Hank Workshop Near Missed Damage
A fire started in Louis Hank's workshop around 10 am Wednesday when an overheated stove ignited a paint can and flames spread to papers. Mrs. Hank alerted the fire department. firefighters searched debris after extinguishing the blaze. A gusty head start could have consumed home and shop.

Funeral services Monday for Dr W A Smith
Funeral services were held Monday for Dr William A Smith 85 lifelong resident of the Saratoga and Henry communities who died Friday March 11 at St Margaret's Hospital after a brief illness. He was married to Ellen Ramsey in 1895 and leaves four children, Emerson, Lester Eugene, Harold Charles, and Emily Othello, plus grandchildren and a great grandson. He practiced in Sparland and La Prairie area, served as assistant State veterinarian, and was a longtime La Prairie Cemetery Board member. Interment was in La Prairie Church Cemetery.

Edward Loesch Dies at McNabb Veteran WWI veteran with business ties
Edward Anton Loesch 63 of McNabb died Monday noon March 14 1949 at St Margaret Hospital Spring Valley after illness. He was born June 1 1895 in Mt Palatine Putnam County and lived in Mt Palatine before moving to McNabb where he ran a general business with his brother in law W H Johnston. He served in World War I and later worked in plumbing hardware and farm implements retiring three years ago.
