Cars Collide on Route 29 Near Dry Hollow
A Saturday night crash on Route 29 between Henry and Putnam left a Chevrolet coach driven by Joe Finnegan and a Terraplane coupe driven by Harold Kaiser badly damaged. The Finnegans and their two sons escaped with minor injuries after bystanders helped reach Henry Hospital. Kaiser’s car lost a wheel and both vehicles were severely damaged.

Lightning Strikes Lone Tree House and Injures Farmer
John Carroll of Lone Tree broke a small bone in his left leg and uses crutches after a fall while working on his farm. During a severe electrical storm a lightning strike damaged his Lone Tree home, shattering nearly every window and badly cracking plaster. Henry Alleman Putnam County Resident Dies at 76
Henry P. Alleman of Granville died after a four year illness at his home at age 76. Born November 18 1861 in Florid he lived in Putnam County most of his life with a few years in Nebraska Colorado and Kansas. He married Mattie Dunbar January 1 1891. they had no children. Surviving are his widow three brothers and one sister Reuben Dayton Ohio O G San Francisco Peter B Chicago and Mrs Katie Williams St Paul Kansas. Funeral services conducted by Rev George Hewitt at the First Evangelical Church Granville followed by burial in Granville Cemetery.

Fatal Crash Kills Walter Merdian Near Magnolia
Walter C. Merdian 32 of Henry died shortly after a collision on Route 89 C near the Magnolia overpass while en route to a raviola supper with friends. In the crash the Merdian car and a Buick sedan were demolished. several injuries were reported among both vehicles. An inquest ruled death an accident.
