Basketball Fans Stalled In Snow Near Wenona
About 200 basketball fans from Ottawa traveling home after a Peoria sectional tournament were stranded in snow five miles south of Wenona. Five charter buses and private cars impeded removal. passengers slept on mats in Wenona High School cafeteria and were fed and rescued by morning. Road clearance continued near noon.

Tags handed out April 2 to 10 with two high school girls canvassing house to house, carrying IDs, and using a polite scripted sales message. Last Rites Tuesday For John Ball
Funeral services for John K. Ball 80 who died Sunday at St Margaret s Hospital Spring Valley were held Tuesday at Ries Funeral Home. The Rev Reva Roland Badger officiated with interment in Putnam Cemetery beside his wife. Pallbearers included Lloyd Murphy Hermann Troendley William De Walt Forrest Wood Bruce Bauter and Albert Heinrich Ball born Jan 2 1880 in Bureau County married Mary Rinehart Feb 27 1901 later living in Henry and Rock Island where he worked at the Armory. He lived in Henry since 1953 and is survived by a brother in law two sisters in law and several nieces and nephews.
