Marshall County officials erased plans for widening and graveling sections of County Line Road and a two mile stretch near Whitefield. Mrs. Eva Wasmer, mother of Mrs. Phillips Jr., of Henry, died yesterday morning at her daughter's home in Chillicothe. She had lived in Varna and spent winter with her sisters in Henry and Chillicothe. Funeral services are set for Friday March 17 at 2 pm at the Philomena Church in Henry with Rev Waldo Bind officiating. Burial will be in Henry Cemetery with R C oa in charge of arrangements.

Haddon Perdew of the Starved Rock Radio Club reports short wave contacts with A. E. Rowland in Montreal Quebec on March 11. Rowland, 65, amateur for 31 years, noted 52 inches of snow. Born February 12 1866 in Whitefield Township Marshall County Illinois he married Laura Heinrich in 1894 and had three children Louis Irene and Charles Jr. Funeral mass was at St Marys Church Henry with interment Calvary Cemetery. Survived by wife three children two sisters and three brothers and ten grandchildren.
