Bridge Work Begins on Henry Site This Week
Preliminary engineering for the Henry bridge is under way this week under J E Raffensperger. A dozen men are on site with plans to ramp up as wrecking starts. contracts were let by the state highway department after meetings in Springfield. The ferry will remain in service until a new crossing is ready, moving from near Havana to Henry once navigable.

Hopkins High of Granville captured the district tournament at Wenona by defeating Minonk 28-19 in the final. Sparland beat Toluca 31-25 for third place. Fatal scalding accident claims farm boy
Four year old Francis Ott, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Swanson, fell into a tub of scalding water while playing on a kitchen floor at the Swanson farm four and a half miles east of Princeton. He died at Perry Memorial hospital Princeton after being rushed there following the accident. An inquest by Coroner A A Meyer Seatonville returned a verdict of accidental death. Banks Pay Another 5 Percent Dividend at Two Banks

Tank Truck Damaged In Collision On Hard Road
The Sweney tank truck owned by A. B. Child & Sons and driven by Ralph Child of this city was damaged in a collision on route 29 near Sparland last week. A northbound car skidded on slippery snow leaving the two vehicles with minor damages. The tank overturned with a broken axle and front wheel but no injuries were reported.

County Board Sets 2500 Dollar License for Roadhouses
Marshall county supervisors in Lac on Tuesday approved an annual liquor license of 2500 dollars for roadhouses outside incorporated areas. The vote was 11 to 3 after attempts to lower the fee failed, effectively killing most roadhouses in the county. Stark county recently set a similar fee, with others expected to follow.

Former Henry Boy John F. Noll Dies in Chicago
John F. Noll, a former Henry boy, died at his Chicago home. Funeral services are set for Friday at 3 p.m. at Drexel Park Church under Composite Lodge No. 879 A. F. & A. M. He attended Henry public schools and Henry High School. He previously worked as a grocery clerk for H. J. Gregory. He is survived by his wife two daughters and a sister in Chicago and a cousin Miss Dorothy Grawburg of this city.

Frank L. Schmitt owns a rare 1773 Baltimore Journal issue in fragile but legible condition. The front page features George Washington writing about a 20 000 acre tract on the Ohio River and urging New York and Pennsylvania settlers to move to the proposed colony.
