The Illinois Farm Bureau Baseball League plans the 1928 season with a spring meeting at Peoria on March 16 at the Jefferson Hotel starting 10 a.m. Marshall Putnam provides a representative to aid in scheduling and rules. About 25 teams will be divided into six or seven districts, with inter district games and a state championship after the district finals. Marshall Putnam won the prior state title.

The Farm Bureau invites youths aged ten to twenty to join Baby Beef Dairy Calf Litter Corn and Poultry Clubs and helps locate club calves. The Dairy Calf club has operated for about a year and runs a eight year project starting May 1.

Death Claims Samuel Swiger of Camp Grove at 61
Samuel Swiger longtime Stark county resident died of a heart attack Friday near Camp Grove at his farm home three miles southwest of the town. He was 61 years, 7 months and 4 days old. He was born near Neponset Illinois on August 5, 1866. He married Mamie Evans in 1908. Left are his wife, a brother Henry Swiger of Camp Grove, a sister Mrs Lottier McMurray of Hemet California, plus nieces nephews and many friends. Funeral services were held at Pleasant Valley church Monday afternoon with the Wyoming and Camp Grove Masons in charge at the grave.
