Nationwide storm causes minor city damage
A west south west storm with lightning and thunder swept in Sunday night causing limited harm. A plate glass window at Segraves drug store shattered and several trees fell on homes and fences damaging porches and rooftops. Telephone lines were disrupted and some toll lines failed. Local damages included a chimney collapse and crumbling bricks at Mrs Brachias home.

Former Henry man brought here for burial
The remains of Frank Vail of Aurora, Illinois, were brought to Henry on the noon train Sunday and taken to Sugar Grove cemetery to be buried beside his father John Vail. He began as a clerk for E. H. Hutchins and later was a valued buyer of fine linens for Marshall Field. He traveled to Ireland seeking linens and lived with his sister Mrs. M. E. Spencer after moving from Aurora, later cared for in a private sanitarium nearby.

Barn on La Rose Farm Des Troyed by Fire
John Monohan and sisters Miss Rose and Miss Anna Monohan of La Rose area suffered a major loss when a new three year old barn at their farm burned completely last Wednesday morning. The blaze started while Monohan checked cows at five o'clock, destroying a 33000 building with only partial insurance and consuming thirty tons of clover hay straw harnesses and various farm implements. Origin of the fire remains unknown.
