Andrew H Walker, a two year resident living in a tent on the Nick Konrad property by Mud Jake, died during Tuesday night. An inquest ruled death from apoplexy. Walker was born January 13, 1869 in Tipton Indiana and worked as a harness maker. He lived in Heyworth and Magnolia before moving to Henry. He enjoyed outdoor life and fishing and lived in primitive circumstances despite some stove and necessities in his tent.

Wilbur Hastings of Richland Township filed for a blind pension at the Lacon board of supervisors Tuesday. County examiner Dr A W Bradford reports Hastings is blind in one eye and has 60 percent vision in the other, and he says an operation might restore sight. The petition was referred to the blind pension committee with a recommendation for an operation. Supporting witnesses were G F Stickel and N W Macon.
