Republican voters in Herby met in a city hall caucus Thursday night with about 60 present. Alderman candidates were named for each ward: First ward Farl Anderson, Second ward Walter Moline, Third ward L F Klein. Moline and Klein currently serve on the city council. Committeeman picks were Ralph Child from the First ward T Floyd Monier from the Second ward and Lester Brown from the Third ward, with chairman and clerk A J Ironmonger. Injured In Auto Smash In Woodstock Near Crystal Lake
Family of Henry Blackburn of Woodstock involved in a sleet storm collision near Crystal Lake. Earl Swenson of the McHenry County Farm Bureau, Mrs Blackburn, and daughter Lorna were treated. Mr Blackburn sustained chest and facial injuries. One other car’s occupant possibly suffered a skull fracture. The heart condition emerged the next day and the patient remained at home under medical care as doctors evaluated heart damage.

Peoria Star Photographer Dies After Auto Crash
Richard Class, staff photographer for the Peoria Evening Star, died at Henry hospital after an auto collision near Sparland. He drove a Durant coupe north toward Sparland and struck a truck loaded with props driven by Harry Morse of Henry. Morse and Richard Dick were injured. Morse’s truck was partially off the pavement. Class’s death came shortly after arrival at the hospital. an inquest by R L Eddington of Lacona was planned.
