John Davis of Sparland Dies at 76 in Illness
John Davis, aged 76 years 11 months and 4 days, of Sparland, died at his daughter's home after a period of ill health. Born April 2, 1860 in Wheeling West Virginia he moved to Illinois as a child. He married Elmira Martin and had three children. after her death he wed Virginia and had five more. Survived by six children four sons three daughters, siblings and many grandchildren. Funeral held Tuesday at Sparland Baptist Church with Rev. F. T. Pelton officiating.

Two Wolves Caught by Federal Trapper in Illinois
Federal wolf trapper Dewey Dehart caught two full grown Northern Red Wolves, about 45 pounds each, in the Crow Creek bottoms near the Marshall county line. The wolves, a male and female, were dispatched after capture. The board of supervisors approved a 120 dollar appropriation to aid in eradication efforts, following prior county and Farm Bureau contributions. Dehart plans three months in Marshall and Putnam counties amid reports of increased wolf activity and stock losses. Farmers are urged to keep dogs at home.

Sleepy autoist drives car into team near Toluca
Mr and Mrs Emmerson Dunlap and family were returning to West Evans when a Ford coupe driven by Billy Baer of La Salle struck their buggy on a gravel road near Toluca. Baer appeared asleep with bright headlights and an old license plate. A horse was badly injured, the buggy demolished, horses ran away and were found next morning.
