The Herary Senachwine High School Honor Society inducted 12 new members in a ceremony at the auditorium with students parents and faculty present. Speakers included Dr Frank Philpot head of education at Illinois State University who urged harmony self respect and positive relation building as key to world peace.

Mrs Kofold Wins New Car at Urbana Show
Mrs Ernest Kofold won a new automobile from a car show held at the Lincoln Urbana Hotel Central Hall. She and her husband registered there on a Sunday drive and her card was drawn among 100 000 entries. She will travel to Urbana soon to claim her prize within a specified range.

High School AFS Benefit Concert and Spaghetti Supper
Henry high school hosts a double event to raise funds for the AFS program. On March 12 at 7 30 p m the Semtchwine high council presents a popular and sacred music concert by about 60 Lincoln students led by Alan Tidaback. Before the concert a spaghetti supper is served by the Student Council with adult help. Net proceeds fund Henry AFS activities including sending a student abroad. Norio Okubo of Japan last year and Flora Duran of Costa Rica this year are the AFS placements.

Rites Friday for Mrs. Edna Thomason
Funeral services for Edna Isabella Thomason on March 4 at Boose funeral home were attended by family and friends. She was born February 27 1879 in Leonore LaSalle County Illinois and lived at 835 Warren Street. Surviving are two sons Alden and Lawrence two daughters in law and many grandchildren great grandchildren and foster grandchildren. The service was conducted by Rev George Hunt with interment in Henry cemetery.

At the Putnam County Chapter annual kick off dinner on Feb 23 at Edgewood Mrs. Frank Serrine president announced the county fund drive quota of 1487 dollars. Plans include joining a regional blood bank program at St Margarets Hospital Spring Valley needing about 400 dollars from Red Cross funds and 180 pints of blood per year. Guests included Wayne Taylor Florence Marshall and Leona Briese. Fund chairmen named across towns and officers listed with Mrs Serrine.
