With under a month to go students study word lists for the Marshall County spelling bee. The county winner will advance to the Pekin Journal Star regional in WEEK-TV studios on May 13 and then to the national finals in Washington DC June 5 to 10. This marks the seventh annual local participation. Linda Hartley, the first winner from Marshall County, later advanced through national rounds.
