Obituary Notice for Omer T Cox at Henry
Omer T Cox aged 52 years 4 months 29 days died after two years illness with two weeks of intense suffering on March 1 1928 in Whitefield. He was a son of the late Labon H Cox married about 26 years ago to Sarah Jane Perez who survives with a son and three sisters Mrs Clara Ader Henry Mrs Grace Lombard Bradford and Mrs Elsie Stout Peoria. He joined the Methodist church in Whitefield in 1908 and was a member of the Odd Fellows and Rebekah. Funeral service June at the Presbyterian church Henry with Rev P F Roberta officiating. Burial in Henry cemetery with bearers John Burton Dr F C Willett Ed Shorts Bert Newman Stephen Snyder Frank Anderson. Heaven is not reached at a single bound but we build the ladder by which we rise.

City Council Holds Monthly Meeting and Primary Plans
The regular city council meeting at city hall included Mayor Pagkell and all aldermen. They discussed a free city mail delivery, sent to the street and walk committee for study, with a report next meeting. The primary election is set for March 13 with nominations and precinct positions forming, and retiring aldermen J E Barry C A Woodfill and Barney Mercian seek renomination. Henry’s new fire truck is expected in about two weeks.

Knights of Pythias Trip to Decatur Sunday
An auto caravan of local Knights of Pythias will form on Second Street at 6 30 Sunday morning and depart at seven for Decatur. In Decatur the visiting knights will tour the Old Folks and Children's homes and participate in a full program arranged by state officers. About fifty knights are expected to join the trip.

Montana Pioneer Plumb Dies After Mastoid Infection
Mr. Plumb of Bozeman Montana father of Mrs. F E Fuller died suddenly on Saturday March 8 from a mastoid infection. Survived by Mrs Plumb two sons and daughter Mrs Fuller Dr Plumb his father and Harry Plumb a brother. Body to be sent to Ireton Montana for burial. Final services scheduled tomorrow with Mr and Mrs Fuller to attend.

Golden Wedding of Mr and Mrs Winship Observed in Peoria
The community celebrated the Golden Wedding of James Winship and Mary F Downey at their Putnam alma mater residence. Among relatives from Portland and local friends, fifty carnations and yellow and white ice cream followed the ceremony. The couple, long residents of Putnam, were married March 6 1878 with Mary Downey born May 1 1866 and James Winship July 21 1852. They have six children, all living except Ivan who died July 13 1926.
