Henry County Pays Tribute to Late Charles Thompson
Funeral and military honors mark the life of Charles Thompson born July 22 1899 in Henry who served in the tank corps in France and later ran Thompson Fisheries. Survived by wife two grandchildren and a brother, he was a charter member of the American Legion and valuable Guns and Shoots expert. The service drew attendees from Henry Fort Atkinson Lake Mills and Chicago with a Palestrina choir director Fr Livingston leading sacred music at Henry high school gym Sunday afternoon.

Polio Benefit at Lacon Nets 130.40 for March of Dimes
The polio fund benefit at Vince and Helen’s tavern in Lacon raised 130.40 from an eight box social and auction held Friday night. Three Nights of Horse Show at Marshall Putt nany Fair
The Marshall-Putnam fair will host a three night horse show this year replacing the usual four. On Friday night a vaudeville act from New York’s Palace theater will be presented featuring Gwynne the renowned magician and his mystery revue. The Marshall Putnam Rural Youth club met February 21 at the Farm Bureau building and voted to enter a team in the state bowling tournament in Princeton Illinois. Former Henry Manlius Heir Sues to Break Will
Mrs Mariam McDonald of Princeton filed a circuit court suit in Barequ County to break the will of Benjamin Horracks of Manlius. The will left the estate to nephew James Horracks with 10 dollars to Mrs McDonald and funded several Princeton charities. McDonald claims she was legally adopted and the testator was not of sound mind when he signed on November 24, 1950, at age 86. The estate is valued around 166000 with farm and Henry property and a Manlius home.
