Former Hennepin Resident Dies In Kankakee
August East 91 a retired railroad engineer and apianist died Sunday February 19 at St Marys hospital Kankakee after a short illness. He lived on a Hennepin farm and began as a fireman on an Illinois riverboat. He joined New York Central in 1902 and became engineer in 1907. He married Mary Ann Schammel in 1919 at Hennepin. she died in 1945. He married Marie L Nesbit in 1948. she survives. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Senesne funeral home in Kankakee.
