D A R Observes Washington Birthday at Opera House
The D A R hosted an evening of patriotic activities in honor of George Washington's birthday at Henry Opera House. A film Wild Willies delighted the audience followed by colonial costumes and readings from Dorothy Jeanne Forbes Rita Waterous and Elegior Monier. Awards announced included a $3 prize to Dorothy Miller and Mary Waterous with mentions for Anna Sivell Harry Arnold Mark Littler Latha Bauter Milford Lucas and a $5 high school prize to Margaret Glenn. The Prodigal Judge closed the program as Mrs Starlipper praised the patriotism shown.

Former Henry Resident Mabel Davis Dies in Topeka
Mrs. Mabel Davis 45 died Saturday at her Topeka home of her father Dr J S Glendenning former Presbyterian minister. Born in Henry Illinois she moved to Pratt Kansas in 1887 and lived in Topeka for 29 years. She married Dr O P Davis in 1900 and was active in city betterment, church and social circles. Survived by husband two children Margaret E Davis both in Topeka and her father were noted as survivors.
