Charles Morgan dies after long Putnam life in St Paul
Charles Morgan aged 58 formerly of Putnam died at his St Paul Minnesota home after a seven month illness. He was born in Putnam January 1874 and lived in Chillicothe before marrying Amy Dixon. Survived by four brothers and three sisters, funeral held at Anderson's with many from Henry and Putnam in attendance.

Wesley Antrim of Varna was injured in an automobile collision at the Grant Garrison corner in Richland township about 9 30 Sunday morning. His wife and small son were uninjured. Antrim remained at his father in law’s home until Tuesday.

Six Buildings Lost In Putnam Co Farm Fire
A hay barn fire on the August Drager farm southwest of McNabb Putnam county last Tuesday afternoon destroyed the barn and nearby structures. The wind aided spread while Granville fire department volunteer crews could not save many buildings. Loss is about $6,000, partially insured, with impact on a once well equipped farm.

County 4-H Demonstration Contest Set for August 5
The annual county 4-H Demonstration contest will be held at Henry High School gymnasium on Friday evening August 5 starting at 8 o'clock. The winning county team will compete at the Illinois State Fair in August 2027 and receive a free trip to the fair plus access to the 4-H club camp for a week. Demonstrations train members in improved farm and home practices and build leadership, teamwork, and cooperation among clubs. New Truck Regulations Take Effect in Illinois Friday
Arrests began last Friday for drivers of all transport trucks over 35 feet on Illinois highways. Chief Moody said the 1931 law, blocked by courts, is now workable after Circuit Judge Alschuler and Federal judges Lindley and Woodward dissolved the restraining order against the state. A tractor and trailer combined at 35 feet will count as one vehicle.

Magnolia Woman Burned When Stove Explodes
Mrs. Joe Sivell of Magnolia was burned on the hands last Saturday morning when her kerosene stove exploded. The fire spread to the pantry walls but neighbors aided quickly and extinguished the blaze. The burns were not serious and the home sustained only minor damage.
