Rites Held for James O'Brien in Wenona
Funeral services for James O'Brien 73 retired farmer were conducted at St Mary's church Wenona with Wittem Graham officiating. Burial followed at Reilly cemetery. He died Wednesday afternoon in Streator's St Marys hospital after a brief illness. Born July 17 1878 in Wenona he lived in Osage township before retiring ten years ago and moving to Wenona. Survived by one brother William of Peoria four nephews and four nieces. He never married.

Bradford Man Suffered Severe Injuries in Auto Crash
Phil Code of Bradford endured serious injuries Sunday when his car left the Bradford road toward Bradford and hit a bridge. An iron rail tore into the car, gashed his leg, and he walked to a nearby farm for aid. He received 60 stitches at Dr Herrman's office and was moved to St Francis hospital in Kewanee. The car was a total loss.

Transport Truck Crash Kills 1 in Sparland
A 26-year-old truck driver for Gould and Calvert died when his tractor trailer overturned on Route 17 hill near Sparland after brakes failed. The wreck damaged a residence yard, spilled cardboard boxes, and prompted an inquest concluding accidental death. Surviving are a wife and infant son, plus parents and siblings in Illinois.
