Charles Hubbell aged 83 died at his Henry home at 4 a m Tuesday July 17 after long illness. He is survived by his wife Mary E. Hubbell three daughters Mrs Florence Whitmer of Chicago Mrs Anna Bonadurer of Rock Falls and Mrs Opal Wunder and four sons Thomas and Palmer of Cedar Rapids Iowa LeRoy of Walnut and Albert. Funeral services will be at Green funeral home 2 p m Thursday July 19 with Rev Orville Masemore Henry Baptist Church officiating. Interment in Henry City Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p m Wednesday.

The Hennepin village board will cooperate with the local American Legion post to install traffic signs and safety stickers to promote safer driving. The program includes stop and school signs and vehicle decals. The board meets monthly with Mayor Bingi pranothers and several trustees. recent village upgrades include a new well, pump house, and extended power plant via Titines Power Company.
Robert Largent of Shelbyville has accepted a vocational agriculture instructor post at Magnolia-Swaney High School. A 1953 University of Illinois agriculture graduate, he served two years with anti aircraft artillery in Seattle and worked at Carlinville High School before joining Magnolia-Swaney. He and his wife live in McNabb. He succeeds on the MS faculty in lives, who moved to California to teach.
George Damm of Henry received a $50 cash award at the weekly program sponsored by the Henry Merchants. Robert Kuhne drew the ticket and Bissell Shaver and Harold Friday led the event. A $25 award will be given this Saturday at 9:30 in front of the theatre.

The Rock River Boat Club excursion from Spring Valley to Henry drew 36 boats around 11:15 am with 16 crafts afloat. Born at 1025 Friday morning July 13 at St Margaret's hospital Spring Valley Mary Elizabeth daughter of Ellwood and Kathryn Ann Jason of Henry died a little over ten hours later weighing one pound born several months premature. She is buried in Henry city cemetery with Boose funeral home handling arrangements. Grandparents Lawrence E and Mary Thomason and James and Ellen Jason. Great grandparents Bert Thomason of Henry survive.
The Henry Businessmen's Association will hold its regular monthly meeting for July on Tuesday evening July 31. The venue will be announced in next week's paper.
