Illinois Department engineers announced that work on the new Marshall County Airport at Lacon will start in a few weeks after awarding a contract to Swords-McDousa Construction Company of Peoria as the apparent low bidder at about 36,607 dollars. Plans were funded by Governor Greer and state funds combined with local airport authority support to build two turf runways 1,940 feet long with grading drainage and turfing.
