The Fair board plans a September 8 to 9 event at the fair grounds with Marshall and Putnam counties hosting the fifth annual fair. Merida Stringer Weds Kewanee Man in Princeton Ceremony

Racing Matinee Delayed by Rain Finally Held Monday
A steady downpour halted the Saturday racing program and postponed it to Monday. On sunny skies racing produced winners in the trotting and pacing events. Quillberry, Representative and Miss Princess won the first trotting race. Punch King Kentucky Queen and Alice B. won the pacing race in 2:21. The second trotting race went to Jack Acme with Guy Purchase second and Bessie Allison third, mile time 2:29.

Calf Club Tour Scheduled for July 20

Irvin Overton Dies After Nervous Breakdown at Bartonville
Irvin Overton died early this morning at Bartonville sanatorium from a nervous breakdown suffered weeks earlier. He was brought to Bartonville three weeks ago and remained mentally alert until death. nourishment proved difficult due to his weakened nervous system. Kansas City Man Kills Wife at Bureau Hotel
Allen Trimble of Kansas City shot and killed Melissa Trimble as she ate lunch at the Greer Hotel in Bureau where she worked as a waitress. He surrendered after a posse captured him, saying he acted after learning of her alleged infidelity. The couple had separated two years earlier and he had a prior six month sentence for stealing a car.
