Public sale of Henry Bank receivership assets planned
The First Henry National Bank of Henry will hold a public sale of remaining assets on Friday July 25 at 1 p m in the old bank building. Roy K Adair Ottawa receiver will conduct the sale under a May 22 1940 federal court order. Descriptive asset lists are available in the Henry News Republican. Wind Whips Bank Pole in Henry Business District
A strong wind and sudden rain storm felled a steel flagpole from the Henry National Bank, damaging a parked 1939 Ford V-8 owned by Al Rowan of Alton. The party from Walnut includes two friends and reports bass wall eyed and northern pike and crappies with a ten pound northern pike among the catches.
